The church was established in St Marys in 1867.   This building was opened in 1902 and remains virtualy unchanged both inside and out.  It features stained glass windows, unusual in a Baptist church.

From 1939 until it closed in 2003 St Marys had a second Baptist church on Robinson St., the Little Falls Baptist.

After the building was sold it was announced that it would become a wedding chapel for gay marriages but this scheme never happened.

The church's last pastor is now the associate pastor at the Grace Community Church.
