Overcoming Prejudice in the
Evolution / Creation Debate
Developing an integrative approach to Science and Christianity

Evolution

In his latest book, Gary Chiang describes how theories and explanations are formed.   It is usually assumed that they are logical deductions based on fact, but Dr. Chiang ably demonstrates, and illustrates amply, that more than logic goes into a theory.   There is a bias, a leaning towards which is not simply objective but has a large measure of emotion in it, transforming the objective bias into a prejudice.   It complicates discussion because of its "unreasonable" nature.   Resolutions of debates, whether within Science or Christianity or whether between them, will require recognition of the role of prejudice in explanations, in our search for Truth.

It is a foundational book in understanding not only how scientists work but also how Christians work. If honestly read, you will discover your own prejudices!

This book is used as a textbook in a university-level faith and science course, and will serve as a valuable resource for Christian teachers and for church leaders.
