The Most Important Decision of Your Life
Life can be a difficult road at times. We all face our share of pain and tragedy along with the joy. However,I know without a doubt that my life would be meaningless and empty without Jesus Christ. Despite the many times I've failed Him, He IS my life. His love,His guidance,His grace and His sovereignty are the constants that I cling to when nothing else makes sense.
As I mentioned in my bio,I had the wonderful privilege of being born into and raised in a Christian home. Believe me, I do not take this lightly. I thank God continually for my parents, who gave their lives in service to Christ and modeled lives of faith and love for me. Their love for the Lord translated into love and concern for their children as well, including myself. So many times in my life,I've felt the force of their prayers surrounding me. I love them dearly.
I made what is called a "profession of faith" at a very young age,and although I do believe it is possible for children to become Christians at very young ages, I realized in later years that I had been too young to really grasp what I was doing. As I got a little older, while still a child,I began to be convicted to my need for a genuine repentance and conversion experience. I became a Christian at the age of 11 at a youth rally in Texas.
My "testimony" is neither exciting nor dramatic. At the age of 11, I hadn't been into gross sin,and I'd pretty much always been the kind of child that didn't tend to be disobedient or mischievous, so there were no dramatic outward changes in my life. I do have confidence in my salvation. I am at my most joyful when I'm fellowshipping faithfully with Jesus and walking with Him,and I've seen His hand on my life, guiding me through all these years, and still loving and extending grace and mercy to me despite my failures and shortcomings.
If you've never come to what's called a "saving knowledge" of Jesus, I strongly urge you to do so. Becoming a Christian won't ensure that life will be a bed of roses and that everything will be jolly...but knowing you have the Lord as your shield and refuge during troubled times will bring deep joy and comfort! Believe me, I can attest to that fact.
Accepting Christ as your Saviour will also ensure that you will go to Heaven when you die,and not Hell. No one looks forward to death, but knowing that as a Christian, you'll spend eternity in bliss and not torment...and that you'll be with Christian loved ones who have died before you...brings great peace and reassurance!
